More than ever, leaders need to ‘build a culture of getting things done’.

To do this, we don’t need complex theories, the latest management fad, or bringing in a business guru.

We need to put in place an effective ‘one to one coaching process’.

Tell our people how we will be measuring their success – this shows them exactly how they need to prioritize their time.

Discuss with them, what challenges they see in achieving these results, this ensures we get their buy-in.

Ask them what help they need from us to overcome these challenges – this shows them we are there to support them and gets rid of excuses at the start.

Then the most important part, meet with them on a regular basis.

I recommend at least monthly, to go through my four 4 key areas.

  1. What specifically went well since we last met?
  2. What specifically did not go well since we last met?
  3. What do you see as your key goals and deliverables over the next month?
  4. What challenges do you see in meeting these goals and how I can help you?

When we do this, we will create a culture of ‘getting things done’.
