If nothing else, the last twelve months have shown us that due to no fault of our own, our lives can change fundamentally.
It reminded me of a story I recently read, written by an 85-year-old man, who learned he only had a few weeks to live.
“If I had to live my life again,
I’d try to make more mistakes
I wouldn’t be so perfect.
I would relax more.
I’d be sillier.
I’d take more chances
I’d take more trips.
I’d climb more mountains.
I’d swim more rivers.
I’d eat more ice cream and fewer beans.
I’d have more actual troubles and fewer imaginary ones.
You see I was one of those people, who lived sensibly and sanely, hour after hour, day after day.
Oh, I’ve had my moments, and if I had to do it over again, I’d have more of those moments.
I’d ride more merry-go-rounds.
I’d watch more sunrises.
And I’d play with more children.
If I had to live my life over again.
But, you see, I don’t.”
Isn’t this message a beautiful reminder?
We only have so long on this planet.
Let’s make the most of it in order to happier.
In order to get more out of life, we don’t need to go and change the world we just need to change ourselves.
Be careful of living your life ‘I’ll be happy when………………..
